For a guided workflow, see Trace ingestion. relai ingest reads a folder of traces or context and curates evidence into EvalsWiki requirements, risk hypotheses, and open questions. The source folder may be outside the project and is read only. Run it from an initialized RELAI project with an existing .relai/evals-wiki/; use relai wiki bootstrap if the Wiki has not been created yet.
Use --permissions {auto|accept_edits|ask} to override the configured permissions for this run. Coding-agent integrations can add --agent-interaction to receive structured pauses and completion reports. RELAI stores selected excerpts under .relai/evals-wiki/attachments/traces/<ingestion-id>/. It reports the Wiki pages and risk hypotheses it changed when ingestion completes. --review pauses before applying each proposed Wiki patch. Risk hypothesis updates and extracted attachments can still be written before that approval. Inspect the current Wiki and attachments when reviewing the result. Use relai ingest --resume to continue an unfinished session. Use relai ingest <folder> --restart to discard that session and begin again; restart does not undo durable writes from the earlier attempt. Resume checks the original source folder and preserves the session’s review mode. Ingest has a one-hour wall-clock limit per invocation. Use --timeout 2h, --timeout off, or RELAI_TIMEOUT to change it. A timeout saves resumable progress and exits with status 124 in terminal mode. With --agent-interaction, it returns a resumable limit pause with status 3. Continue with relai ingest --resume, optionally with a new timeout. See Timeouts for the shared timeout rules and EvalsWiki for other ways to maintain project knowledge.
